MISSION BRIEFING

Important information before entering the bunker

[STORY: LOST SIGNAL]

> What happened before

This bunker was a secret communications base that operated from 1985 to 1992. Here, deep underground, experiments were carried out with powerful antennas and unconventional frequency modules. The goal was to develop a new-generation directional electromagnetic signal weapon.

On the night of October 31, 1992, the final shift of bunker personnel detected a signal with no known origin or match. The signal completely disrupted the bunker’s communication systems, took control of the electronic equipment, and, according to the sole survivor – E. Karalkov – “began to dismantle reality itself.”

According to official records, the staff were declared missing, and the survivor’s testimony was dismissed as delusion. E.K., dubbed “The Bureaucrat” by the press, claimed to journalists that: “During the incident, the workers’ bodies fractured into waves, transforming into echoes — flashes of light, metallic reverberations, shadows of voices. Before they disappeared, they realized how to stop the phenomenon and encoded the answer into several code fragments. But they no longer had time to transmit it.” Since November 1, 1992, the bunker has been sealed off, the area secured — and long forgotten by time.

After the incident, E.K. was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and placed in isolation under long-term medical supervision. After nearly 33 years of treatment, on September 15, 2025, E.K. was finally released into the care of his relatives. According to them, E.K. never returned home.

> What’s happening now

2025.09.15 17:42. The Ministry of National Defence has provided classified information that directional radio-frequency jamming signs are being detected on the Lithuanian Armed Forces’ radio communication networks. The source of the disruptions has not been found, but it is believed to be part of coordinated electronic warfare (radio-electronic suppression) operations.

We, the caretakers of the bunker site, assume that “The Bureaucrat’s” disappearance may be connected, and that the stories about the signal and the code capable of stopping it are not mere fabrications.

> Who are you

You are a special investigation team granted the highest level of clearance within the bunker. Your mission is to find the code that can stop the signal and, if possible, uncover what truly happened to the staff on that fateful night. Could they still be there?
